Anthony Geffen

Anthony Geffen is one of the world’s leading documentary producers and filmmakers. He worked for BBC Television for ten years before setting up Atlantic Productions in 1992. His films have won many of the most coveted awards in television and are regularly seen in over thirty countries worldwide.

In 2011, he won a BAFTA award for Flying Monsters 3D with David Attenborough (Sky 3D), which received several other international awards including Best 3D Film at the prestigious Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival. In the same year Anthony won an unparalleled three Emmy awards for First Life with David Attenborough (BBC/ Discovery) and recently his feature-length documentary The Wildest Dream – Conquest of Everest, won an award at the Giant Screen Congress for the best IMAX film.

His extensive and varied work in television includes the Emmy award-winning Jerusalem City of Heaven; the high-rating global specials Nefertiti Resurrected (Discovery Channel) and Predator X (History/ ZDF); Secrets of Egypt (National Geographic/ Five); Rome Unwrapped (National Geographic/ Five); Lost Worlds (History); the landmark award-winning series The Promised Land and The American Dream (BBC/ Discovery); The Greeks – Crucible of Civilization (BBC/ PBS); the Emmy-nominated Charlotte Church Live special (BBC/ PBS) and the BAFTA nominated Munich: Mossad’s Revenge (Channel 4/ Discovery).

His current projects include a feature documentary (National Geographic) and a number of 3D films, Penguins 3D with David Attenborough (Sky 3D) about the life of an adolescent King Penguin and The Kingdom of Plants 3D with David Attenborough (Sky 3D) about the world of plants. He was recently made Creative Director of Colossus Productions; a new company created by Atlantic Productions and Sky to produce high-end 3D projects.
